Start with data residency, not the model

Swiss financial services, insurance, and pharma companies usually ask about data location before they ask about the model. That order is correct. Before any pilot, a serious vendor should be able to answer:

• Where does customer data sit while the agent or workflow runs?
• Is the vendor scoping this against the Swiss FADP, GDPR, or both?
• Who has access to production data during development, and for how long?

If a vendor treats this as a legal afterthought rather than part of the architecture, that is a signal, not a technicality.

A local office is not the point

Some of the best AI partners for Zurich companies are not based in Zurich. What matters more:

1. Same time zone. A partner in Stockholm, Munich, or Amsterdam shares Zurich's working hours. A partner eight time zones away does not, whatever their pitch deck says about "global delivery."
2. Willingness to be on-site for what matters. Kickoffs and key reviews benefit from a room. Weekly syncs do not need one.
3. A named person who will build, not just sell. Ask who writes the code and prompts, not just who presents.
